selling acid was a bad idea. selling it to a cop was a worse one.

Once again, my "plans" for last night didn't go quite like I drew them up in the dirt. The plan was to watch "Six Feet Under", then a movie, then go to bed at a reasonable hour.
I was dicking around and didn't make it to the TV in time to watch the beginning of the show. I decided that instead of picking it up in progress, I'd just wait and watch it later. I know myself too well, so I have it set up to TiVo the hell out of SFU every week. So I started making a couple of sandwiches and a snack. I would, after all, be on the couch for a few hours. Just as I sat down to start my night, the phone rings. It's a couple of friends of mine who I don't hang out with very often. They asked me to meet them out for drinks, and I think "sure, why not" I thought could have a beer or two, and still be home in time to watch SFU and then get to bed at a still reasonable hour of, say, 1:00 am. I know, I know. It's a weeknight! But I work nights, so I don't need to be up early. Anyway, we closed down the bar and they drove me home. Well, I didn't plan on staying up till 2, but it's alright, I thought. However, they wanted to hang out for a little bit. Okay, fine. My place is a pig sty, but come on in for a few minutes. Next thing I knew, it was freakin 4 in the morning. They finally left, and I went to bed.

I got up today and got around to watching SFU, but I STILL didn't watch "Coffee and Cigarettes", which I've had for what seems like a month now. I guess tomorrow I'll have to skip the Sleater-Kinney show and watch the movie.

Speaking of SFU, I'm exhausted from watching it. There was so much damn yelling in that episode. I feel awful. Still, though, I'm not enjoying this season as much as years past. I don't know, but something seems right about Rico. Oh, if you haven't yet seen this week's episode, here's a spoiler. You may need to avert your eyes.

I'm glad that he hooked up with Vanessa. As much as I disliked them last season, and as little respect as I had for her, something just seemed wrong about them being separated. Only time will tell if they'll really get back together. For the record, I'm for it. And I'm against the inevitable demise of Nate and Brenda's relationship. I'm against Billy. Everything about him. I always have been. What do you think? Specifically about Rico and Vanessa, but about everything on the show in general.

Just caught SFU last night - and I agree - I was a big ball of stress after watching - I'm not sure I like this season all that much either - probably because I feel like it's going to end up with a mass suicide at the end...or Billy will end up killing everyone. And I really dislike Brenda now - I'm just kind of tired of her character. AS for Rico and Vanessa - I was also pleasantly surprised they hooked up, but I was kinda hoping the strange chick he hooked up with last week would be with us a few more episodes - for the comedy of it all.

My suggestion: lose that Six Feet Under shit and get with "Entourage". That show is briliant. It's only 30 minutes and won't stress you out in the slightest. It's escapist fun at its finest, like a roller-coaster ride. Jeremy Piven is amazing. Also, if one didn't actually own a Dandy Warhols album, which pool would you recommend this neophyte dip his toes in first. Please note that I don't really like that ubiquitious Bohemian Like You song, but I love Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth.

Same thing happened to me, Dave. I missed the first five minutes of the show, so I decided to wait until it came on the west coast feed at midnight (don't have tivo, but digital cable has both east and west coast feeds of all the HBO channels). Although I bridged the time in between with a Netflix movie.

Bizarre episode. I guess the idea was that everyone at the party wound up extremely wasted. Watching it gave me the feeling of being drunk at a party trying to make sense of the crazy things the other drunk people are doing. Very surreal. That bird...wtf?

The Billy stuff has gotten old and overplayed...it was tiring watching the last time he went off his meds. For a while it seemed like Claire was somehow catching his bipolarism. Brenda's pissing me off. I don't want to see her and Nate going through an inevitable break-up again. Oh, and I've had enough of George. Seems like Rico has the only new plotline, which has been refreshing...I was hoping that weird mortician chick would be around longer as well.

Anyway, it does seem like not a lot is happening, but at the same time it's like they're getting the pieces in place for for something big in the finale.

Ditto Xtian's comment on Entourage, by the way.

Do y'all not remember Iliana Douglas being on the show for like two episodes in season two? Or was it one? Either way, Rico went to work for Kroenner for a while (because Nate and David wouldn't let him be a partner). She was there for a really short time, but she wasn't as annoying then. They added that dimention to her character. She was just plain slutty, which she still is.

Dang Doug. You may be on to something. It never occurred to me before, but Billy could totally kill everyone. Or maybe even George could, in a confused state, blow up the house. The other possible end could be that Kroenner does something to either destroy their home, or they finally buy Fisher & Diaz.

For the record, I don't like Entourage. I can't get over my dislike for Kevin Dillon.

x-tian, I would recommend The Dandy Warhols Come Down simply because it has the "Not if You Were the Last Junkie on Earth" song, and some other great ones including "Boys Better" and "As Cool as Kim Deal" I'm going b-a-n-a-n-a-s over Welcome to The Monkey House, but it isn't really representative of their oeuvre. It's their Kid A in that they used a lot of electronic stuff to head in a different direction.
Now that I think of it, there's some really kickass keyboard stuff going on on the Come Down record, so that's the one I would recommend the highest for your needs.

Yeah, I remembered her from before on the show. They were looking for a way to fire her and she broke a glass of Ruth's. They replayed it in the intro to last week's show. I liked her...hopefully she'll be in more episodes. You're right though that she wasn't as annoying before.

I think Kroenner was bought out or filed bankruptcy a few seasons ago. After their part in the storyline had pretty much ended. Can't remember exactly. Still possible that Billy will kill everyone though.
