No new hockey posts at the other place since Saturday, and I doubt I'll be posting today. Maybe a little about the opening of the buy-out season, but we'll see.
Man, oh man. Finally, something happened on SFU last night. I don't want to include any spoilers here, lest I be reprimanded. Last time I included spoilers, I nearly got killed because of it. If you saw the show, you don't need to be reminded. I'll just comment that the one thing was an inevitability. We knew, we just didn't know when it would happen. The other thing came as a complete shock. I can't wait until next Sunday.
So I watched that, then I also watched "Entourage". I know I've said before that it doesn't do anything for me, but I also know that some of you, dear readers, love the show. With that in mind, I thought I would give it a chance. I've got to admit that I liked it a lot. I'll probably get hooked on it as well.
I'm really intrigued by the previews for HBO's new show, "Rome" which will debut in August. I'd been thinking of scaling down my cable, but I don't know if I'll be able to give up HBO. I don't really watch much else, but I really like having the fancy-pants digital cable.
Tonight I'll be working. I don't usually on Monday, but it'll give me another BNRWN. Word on the street is that this'll be a one-time Monday night thing. If I keep working there, the beautiful thing is that I'll always have Sunday and Monday off. Perfect for football watching. Of course once the hockey season starts, I'll have to shake things up a little, and give up an occasional Monday for a Friday night off. I don't know what the schedule is, but I can safely assume that of my 24 games, maybe 8 of them will be on Friday nights. I do know that opening night will be Wednesday October 5, and that all 30 teams will be in action. I know I'll have the home opener, but I don't know whether we'll get to host opening night or not. I also know that I'll have two pre-season games, which I don't usually give a rat's ass about. However, I think I'll take advantage of the free tickets this year.

holy crap - SFU! That's all I'll say - we'll discuss later when it's safe - or is it ever safe?
And yeah, Entourage is so great - I wish it were an hour long. Dave, did you catch the "Station Agent" jokes in previous episodes? very funny.
Naw. Last night was one of only like two episodes I've seen.
For the record, though, I liked that movie -- "The Station Agent"
It's probably safe, as long as it's okay with Hans.
NARM
(almost wetting myself with laughter)
(me too)
Yeah, last night's SFU was big. You put it perfectly...one thing expected (at some point), one thing definitely not.
I feel like Entourage has been even funnier these past two weeks (esp. the Sundance episode). It's reached that point in tv series where the writers and actors are really hitting their strides.
I can't wait to discuss this episode with ya'll and speculate about what is coming up next since we got no scenes for next week. The hell? Brenda's "sappy feret" comment has my vote for best line of the season so far.
I think that the comments should be open for spoilers, just as they're open for foul fucking language. So go ahead and talk openly about SFU. I don't understand a word any of your are saying anyway.
Spoiling Entourage, Sunday's episode was the first time I was a little disappointed with the character development. It just seemed a little weird to me that, for the whole show, Vince has been this guy who's never had a real relationship and never has any hang ups or ties to any one woman, but yet he not only had a five-week relationship with Mandy Moore, but he's still hung up on her and apparently even stalked her?! I could buy that maybe he's still hung up on her, but it just seemed like they went too far. Maybe Mandy Moore would only be on the show if they wrote it that Vince was obsessed with her. I don't know...maybe they'll work it out in the coming episodes.
They joked about The Station Agent in Entourage, too. It's the most joked-about indie film since Sling Blade.
Yeah, TV! Lately I've discovered there a few reasons to look at television. The aforementioned Entourage...and now Stella, which is on Comedy Central Tuesday nights. It's pee your pants funny. It's like some weird mix of Mr. Show and The Adventures of Pete and Pete. You just gotta see it.
Yeah, shit... Stella. I forgot about that. I watched the premiere and liked it a lot, but I haven't watched it since then.
Actually, I was thinking more "Kids in the Hall" than "Mr. Show", but that'll work too. I need to start DVRing the hell out of that show.
